Aunties’ Ice Cream Parlor will be hosting 2 of the Cape’s best known Historians. Burt Derick and Phyllis Horton, both are Dennis Port natives and Phyllis still resides in Dennis Port. They will be signing the latest publication, “Gazetteer of Dennis“, produced by the Dennis Historical Commission and published by the Dennis Historical Society. The book signing will be taking place from 12 to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013 at Aunties’ Cream Parlor. Some tidbits from the book, do you know why corn seed were always planted 4 to a hill ? Where was the Guzzle located ? Where was Scouts Field in Dennis Port ? Do you know the legend of Scargo Lake ? The book is 120 pages of the great history of Dennis and many references to Dennis Port. For $15.00 you can’t go wrong, plus it will look great on your coffee table. All the money goes to the Dennis Historical Society.
